Asian? Cuban? Hard to say. I recently went with two friends and we all left with mixed feelings. The restaurant is in the trendy and nice-looking Saint Martin's Lane hotel. Having this in mind is natural to imagine that dishes won''t be cheap. Well you are right. It is expensive, but portions are generous, well cooked and nicely presented. The Mojitos and Caipirinhas are so strong that you won't be needing many to feel Asian, Cuban... you choose!

This unpretentious place is one of my favourite Lebanese restaurants in London. Both their Kensington and Soho branches are really laid back, with quick service and many tables that even when full the wait won't be long. The menu is extensive and includes the traditional mezzes, soups, salads, tagines, fattet, wraps grilled meat, cakes , baklavas and other Middle Eastern treats.

One of the greatest benefits of living in London is the ample cuisine choice. Before living in London I had never tried Afghan food so I found very exciting the idea of eating at Afghan kitchen. The place is very small and although there are communal tables their main target is clearly to takeout. The dishes include aubergines in yoghurt, chicken in yoghurt, dhal, lamb with rice lamb and spinach among others.  As it is a small place you are not expected to stay long. The service is quick because everything is already prepared and reheated on Microwave. So if you are on the look for some 'exotic food' this is a good option but  do not expect a restaurant experience.

Not often I go to restaurants in Holloway but for Ethiopian food I would go anywhere. Muya serves authentic Ethiopian food in a setting that combines ethnic and modern decor. Food is very tasty, abundant and not very expensive. I still cannot get over the vegetarian Injera (teff flour flatbread with spongy texture) and spiced tea.

If you are looking for something different or live in the South East   you will find in Pasha a good and inexpensive option.
Pasha serves Central Asian food and gives a different experience by giving costumers the option of sitting in scattered stools and Persian style rugs.
Following tradition, Pasha serves lots of roots vegetable dishes, lamb and stuffed dumplings.

The Gate is heaven for vegetarians! I had previously eaten at the branch in Hammersmith so I was expecting good food. I was not disappointed. The Gate in West London was not very inspiring from outside but this branch is another story. It is better located, the decoration is cozy/stylish and therefore the ambience is more diverse. The food stills combines exciting flavours and great presentation.
